Southern Nevada Fisher House
The Southern Nevada (SNV) Fisher House opened in 2016 and provides high quality temporary lodging, at no cost, to families who travel at least 50 miles, of Veterans or Active Duty Service Members who are undergoing inpatient or extensive outpatient treatment through the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System or Mike O'Callaghan Federal Medical Center. The Fisher House offers a warm, compassionate environment where families find support and encouragement from others in similar circumstances. It is a "home away from home" and provides a sense of comfort so that families can be together while a loved one is undergoing medical treatment.
By the Numbers: 16 suites | approximately 9,000 square feet | roughly 750 families served | an estimated $500,000 in savings for the families who have stayed there. A $5 million capital campaign supports the Fisher House's continued operation and growth.
