About Us

Formed in 2011, the Nevada Veterans Foundation consists of an all-volunteer Board of Directors dedicated to improving the lives of Nevada's veterans, military members, and their families.

Board of Directors

Karen Estabrook - Chairperson. MBA in Organizational Leadership. U.S. Army Sergeant Major (E-9), retired 1980-2007. Leadership Development Coordinator, VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System, retired GS-12 (2011-2022). Lifetime member of the Non Commissioned Officer Association and VFW Auxiliary; member of Women Veterans of Nevada, Association of the US Army, Southern Nevada Veteran Providers, and Impact Las Vegas.

Richard "Dick" Moyer - Vice Chairman. US Army Vietnam veteran; recipient of 2 Bronze Stars with "V" and 3 Purple Hearts. Served with F Co 51st Infantry (Long Range Patrol) Airborne and P Co (75th Ranger Regiment). Member of the Vietnam Veterans Association and Military Order of the Purple Heart. Retired from the transportation industry (aviation and ground). Participated in 3 Habitat for Humanity builds (2012, 2013, 2016), bringing Vietnam veterans together to build homes for the extremely poor.

Debra Worden - Secretary. Lifetime member of VFW Post 12093 Auxiliary; served as Treasurer of that post for 5+ years. Moved to Las Vegas in 2013. Attended the University of Central Florida, majoring in Psychology.

Terry Estabrook - Treasurer. Lifetime member of DAV and VFW. Global War on Terrorism veteran (Kuwait, 18 months). 35 years of Army service, retired Master Sergeant (E-8). BA in Business Management. Volunteer veteran's service officer with VFW Auxiliary, assisting veterans with claims.

Julie Johnson - Trustee. Executive Director, Paralyzed Veterans of America Nevada Chapter (18 of her 23 years there). Focuses on quality of life for veterans with spinal cord injuries and diseases. Member of Las Vegas Elks Lodge #1468. Participates in the Governor's Review Panel at the Southern Nevada Veterans Home.
